Rapid Precision Valves (RPV)
- Fastest Tyre Deflation Valve on the market
- From 50 to 20psi in 12 seconds
- Easy Operation
- Factory TPMS Compatible
- Patented Design
Spend more time on the trails, not in the car park.
The Apex Designs USA Rapid Precision Valve (RPV) is the world’s fastest tyre deflation system – and it’s now available in Australia through Apex Designs Australia.
This patent-pending deflation valve lets you drop from highway pressures to off-road-ready in seconds, not minutes. No tools, no waiting around, just fast, controlled deflation every time.
Example: Drop a 35” tyre from 50 PSI to 20 PSI in under 15 seconds.
The Apex Designs RPV requires the factory valve to be replaced, therefore your tyre needs to be taken off.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
No tools. No fuss. Just fast, accurate deflation when it matters most.
- Remove the valve cap
- Attach your pressure gauge (We recommend you use the Apex Designs Precision Pressure Gauge)
- Pull the Red Tab to begin rapid deflation
- Watch the pressure drop in real time
- Push the tab back in to stop at your desired PSI
- Replace the cap. You're ready to roll.
WHY THE RPV EXISTS?
STOP WASTING TIME AT THE TYRES
Every trip starts the same:
- Air down
- Hit the tracks
- Air back up
The problem? Traditional tyre valves are slow, fiddly and easy to lose.
The Rapid Precision Valve replaces your factory valve stem with a permanently installed high-flow solution that lets you inflate, deflate and adjust pressures faster than ever.
No adapters.
No stuffing around.
No removing valve cores.
The point
Spend more time on the trails, not in the car park.
The RPV is the world's fastest tyre deflation system. It replaces your factory valve stem with a high-flow precision unit and vents through a side port — bypassing the restrictive Schrader core entirely. Pull the red tab and a 35″ tyre drops from 50 PSI to 20 PSI in under 15 seconds. No tools, no waiting. Push the tab back to stop at your pressure. Done.

Valve cap and lanyard included in the box.
How it works
No tools. No fuss. Just fast, accurate deflation.
1
Remove the cap & attach your gauge
Use an analogue gauge (the PPG) so you can read pressure in real time.
2
Pull the red tab
Air dumps through the high-flow side port. Watch the pressure drop fast.
3
Push in to stop, replace cap
Stop at your exact off-road pressure. Re-cap and you're ready to roll.
HOW IT COMPARES
RPV vs RCV vs a standard deflator
| Feature | RPV | RCV | STANDARD DEFLATOR |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deflation speed (50→20 PSI) | -12s | ~30s | Minutes |
| Bypasses Schrader bottleneck | Yes | Yes | No |
| Installation | Replaces stem (tyre off) | Retrofit, no tyre removal | Clip on |
| Permanent fitment | Yes | Optional | No |
| TPMS compatible | Yes | Yes | Varies |
| Best for | 4WDs wanting max speed | Caravans, easy fit | Occasional use |
TPMS COMPATIBILITY
The RPV is designed to work with most factory TPMS sensors found in today's popular trucks, including RAM, Ford, Chevrolet, GMC and Toyota. If you're running an aftermarket internal TPMS system, simply add our TPMS Adaptor Kit. Got external screw-on TPMS sensors? We've got that covered too.
No warning lights. No guesswork. Just faster tyre pressure adjustments.

SPECS & FITMENT
Choose your length, confirm your fit
WHICH LENGTH DO I NEED?
Standard or XL — here's how to tell
15 mm or less valve stem depth. Works with most factory steel and alloy wheels. Measure from the rim face to the base of the existing stem hole.
16–25 mm valve stem depth. Required for beadlock wheels and deep-recess rims where the standard length won't reach the nut.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The RPV replaces your entire valve stem with a high-flow precision unit, giving you the fastest possible tyre deflation. You simply flip the RPV open and it dumps air dramatically faster than any clip-on deflator or standard valve core removal tool.
Yes. Once installed, the RPV becomes your new valve stem. It is designed for long-term daily-driving, off-road, towing, and heavy-duty use.
The RPV fits most wheels that use standard Schrader valve stems. Some wheels with very tight recesses may require checking clearances. If your wheel accepts a normal valve stem, the RPV will typically fit.
Visit our comprehensive guide which teaches you how to measure your Valve Stem.
Most factory TPMS sensors are integrated inside the valve stem. This is easily relocated to the RPV for the following vehicles:
- Ram Trucks
- Chevy / GMC
- Ford F-Trucks
- Jeeps
- Nissan Y62 Patrol
If you have an aftermarket internal TPMS then you will need our TPMS Adaptor kit.
If you have an external TPMS (dome type) then you will need the TPMS Spacer.
Yes. The RPV accepts all standard tyre inflator chucks. Just push your inflator onto the main shaft and inflate as usual.
You will have a slightly faster inflation due to the shape of the valve stem.
For an even faster inflation, get the Push to Connect Chuck which pushes in the schrader core in 100% of the way, halving the inflation time for your tyres.
The RPV is significantly faster. Removing the tyre core and bypassing the entire valve stem gives maximum airflow, making it the fastest air-down solutions available.
The RCV is fast, but the RPV is the top-tier option for speed.
No. The RPV installs exactly where your valve stem goes. Remove the old stem, insert the RPV, tighten the nut, and you’re done.
Yes. Like any component that uses seals, O-rings and oil, the RPV will experience normal wear over time—especially after long, harsh off-road trips.
We recommend keeping a seal repair kit on hand for quick field servicing. If you notice a slow leak or reduced performance after heavy use, it’s usually a sign the internal seals need to be replaced.
Yes. RPVs are designed for heavy 4x4 use. They use precision sealing, corrosion-resistant materials, and internal O-rings to keep dirt and grit out when closed.
No. When installed correctly, the internal O-rings and precision machining create a secure seal. Regular checks during tyre rotations are always good practice but ongoing leaks are extremely rare.
Use an analogue tyre pressure gauge. A digital gauge won't be able to keep up with the rapid drop in pressure, so an analogue gauge will give you a real time view as to your current tyre pressure.
Check out the Apex Designs Precision Pressure Gauge or the Precision Tyre Inflator.
The external parts of the RPV are threaded and secured from the inside of the wheel — meaning they cannot be removed without taking the tyre off. This makes them effectively tamper-proof.
No. The Rapid Precision Valve requires a straight valve stem mounting point, so it is not compatible with right-angled stems like those on the Isuzu NPS.
For vehicles with angled stems, we recommend using the Rapid Connect Valve (RCV) instead.
