If you want the Apex Designs Rapid Deflation but don't want to remove your wheels to replace the valve stem for the RPV, check out the Rapid Connect Valve.
30 to 15 PSI in 30 seconds!
While it is not as fast as the Rapid Precision Valve, this is still super quick and install is a snap!
If you want the option to retrofit your existing valve stems and still have an extremely fast deflation time, then the Rapid Connect Valves are for you.
In less than 5 minutes, you can upgrade all your valve stems to get that Apex fast deflation.
This is the perfect solution for those who don't want to remove their wheels to get the valve stem replaced with the RPV. The Apex Designs Rapid Connect Valve is perfect for your caravan or trailer!
If you are worried about people stealing your Rapid Connect Valves, fear now, as the intuitive Valve Stem Core Removal Tool (included in the pack) is flipped over to provide the assistance to tighten the RCV onto your Valve Stem.
This is a FAST screw on deflator that stays in place! This innovative Patented design makes it quick and simple to air down without the need to dismount your tires. This kit includes "Time to Deflate" decal and multi-tool for easy installation.
PLEASE NOTE: INSTALLATION TOOL IS ONLY INCLUDED WITH A SET OF 4 OR 5 RCV’s. IF PURCHASING A SINGLE (1) RCV (SKU X02-02-015) IT DOES NOT INCLUDE AN INSTALLATION TOOL. For example, if you purchase 4 singles you will not receive an installation tool.
THE EASIEST DEFLATION PRODUCT ON THE MARKET
The Apex Designs Rapid Connect Valve is the simplest retrofit for fast, hassle-free tyre deflation.
It installs directly onto your existing valve stem—no removing tyres, no constant pulling valve cores.
Fit it once, then air down in seconds.
INSTALLATION IS A BREEZE
STEP 1
Remove Factory Cap
STEP 2
Using the tool that comes in the Packs of 4 or 5, remove the factory valve stem core.
STEP 3
Screw on the Rapid Connect Valve. We recommend you have the cap removed and RCV open to minimise resistant putting it on.
STEP 4
Flip tool over and tighten RCV onto factory valve stem. Put on the cap.
You're all done!
IMPORTANT INSTALLATION NOTE
Before installing your RCVs, check the tips of your existing valve stems for any imperfections. The end of each valve stem must be perfectly flat and smooth for the RCV to seal correctly.
If the tip isn’t in good condition, use a fine-grit nail file to square and smooth the surface.
If you install the RCV and experience a leak, remove it, file the valve stem tip flat again, and apply 3–4 wraps of Teflon tape to the valve stem threads before reinstalling. This will resolve any minor leaks.
*THIS RARELY HAPPENS, JUST WORTHWHILE NOTING FOR CUSTOMERS WITH OLDER VEHICLES WHO HAVE CHEWED OUT VALVE STEMS*
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
No. The RCV is a manual deflation system. When you lift the red tab, air bypasses the valve stem and escapes freely, so it won’t automatically stop at a preset PSI.
For accuracy, we recommend using an analogue tyre pressure gauge while airing down.
The key advantage of the RCV over traditional valve-core tools is that you don’t remove the valve core every time, which prevents wear and saves time on the tracks.
- Connect a gauge to one tyre.
- Open the RCV on that tyre.
- Walk around the vehicle and open the RCVs on the remaining tyres.
- By the time you return to the first tyre, it’s usually at your target pressure.
- Check the gauge, stop the RCV, fit the cap, then close the others in the same order.
This gives you consistent pressures across all tyres without standing around waiting, or having to do 1 tyre at a time.
The ARB E-Z Tyre Deflator was the benchmark for letting air out of your tyres fast when it first launched, and we used it for years!
The difference is in the process:
- ARB Quick Deflator: Removes your valve core every time you deflate and only lets you do one tyre at a time. Repeatedly pulling the valve core in and out can wear it over time.
- Apex Designs RCV: You remove the valve core once during the initial installation—after that, you never touch it again. You can deflate all four tyres at the same time, giving you the same rapid speed but in a fraction of the total time.
Most users save 3–4 minutes per air-down session, with less fiddling and no risk of damaging valve cores.
Yes. The RCV is designed to fit all standard Schrader valve stems, which are used on almost every 4WD, SUV, ute, car, caravan and trailer. If your tyre uses a normal valve stem, the RCV will fit.
Yes. The RCV works by removing the standard valve core with our special tool. It retrofits directly onto your existing valve stem, so you don’t need to pull tyres off the rim. You can install them onto all 4 x tyres within 5 minutes!
The RCV is fast enough for everyday 4WD, beach, and caravan use—typically 30 PSI to 15 PSI in around 30 seconds.
For the fastest possible air-down speed, the Rapid Precision Valve (RPV) is our top-end option because it fully replaces the valve stem and your average tyre deflation is 12 seconds/tyre.
The installation tool is included in the Set of 4 and Set of 5 packs.
If you purchase a Single RCV, you’ll need to already have the tool or add one to your order.
You can leave your RCVs installed permanently. They are designed for everyday on-road and off-road use and won’t affect your normal driving, tyre pressure checks, or inflating with an air compressor.
Yes. The RCV works with TPMS because it doesn’t remove or interfere with your factory valve core. Your vehicle will continue to read tyre pressures normally.
If you have the aftermarket screw on TPMS dome, let us know after placing your order and we will include a spacer that goes between the TPMS and the RCV pull cap.
The RCV is made from durable, high-strength materials and is designed for off-road use. It protrudes only slightly more than a factory valve cap, so normal driving, rocks, and corrugations won’t cause issues.
Sand. Dirt. Mud. The RCV can handle all of it!
Unlikely. Once installed, the RCV requires a specific tool to remove. This makes it difficult to take off without the correct fitting, offering a built-in anti-tamper advantage over standard deflator caps.
No regular servicing is required. Just check tightness occasionally (every service or tyre rotation) and keep the area clean from excessive sand or mud. If the valve ever seems slow, a quick rinse or compressed-air blast will clear debris.
Yes. The RCV doesn’t affect normal inflation. Attach your compressor as usual and inflate your tyres to the pressure you want. The RCV doesn’t restrict airflow when pumping up.
